“If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn.”
At Vital Years, we hold true to the belief that every child is born a ‘natural reader’ and has the
potential to learn.
So, “Why is my child not learning like any other child would?” you might ask.
In giving back to the community which plays a role in moulding our children, Vital Years Puchong Jaya and Bandar Puteri Puchong joined hands in organising a talk to address the many questions that caregivers and teachers alike are asking.
We invited Mr Alex, a clinical psychologist to speak and shed some light on issues pertaining to the learning difficulties and challenges faced by children. We were given an insight into the importance of understanding and identifying behavioural, social and developmental problems of children. By understanding those issues, we can then help our children to manage and cope with school and learning environment, overcome challenges and succeed in life.
We received an overwhelming response. Approximately 70 parents attended the talk. They were given hands-on exercises to perform during the 2-hour talk. It ended with a Question and Answer session that lasted more than 30 minutes with much enthusiasm from the floor.
In all, it was a very informative and educational talk pepped with good depictions of an otherwise normal classroom environment.
Together with our teachers, we at Vital Years Puchong aspire to continue to reach out to these children who can give so much more back to us if only we teach them the way they learn.
