1974 - 1988 For the next 10 years, Foong sought to perfect this self-designed method. It was used on her own two children. Li-On was reading fluently when he was four while Li-Shen was an avid reader when she was four.

Happy that her method worked on her own children, Foong applied it on other children, including slow-learners at the Rumah Harapan in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur. She also lent draft copies of her books to friends to teach their children. All experienced success.
1989 Foong migrated to Western Australia. While she was there, she further developed her method.
