The VITAL YEARS Early Reading and Writing Programme started with a mother’s vision to have her children bonded to books from an early age. To achieve success she was convinced that the experience with reading had to be completely hassle-free and stress-free. It had also to be a natural process for children, part of the experience of growing up.
Thus, the home-grown programme was born. And this mother’s own words: “If it can work for my kids, it can work for other kids.”
This programme was initially shared among a small group of children in a home situation, then with bigger groups in schools and now with children in Malaysia, Australia and Singapore. Over the years, VITAL YEARS also succeeded in teaching not only the very young but Downs Syndrome children, dyslexic, hyperactive and slow learners.
